Cambridge Building Innovations accompany Architects to Danish Brickworks

In May 2010, Cambridge Building Innovations arranged for a number of Architects and Builders to visit brickworks in Denmark.  Our hosts during the trip were Christian A Petersen & Stig H Sorensen of Petersen Tegl.  We were treated to a tour of their factory which combined traditional brick making alongside modern methods of manufacture. The Architects attention was caught by the unusual sized facings and lintel system; don’t be surprised if these products are in use on buildings in the UK very soon.
Our party enjoyed luncheon on Mr Petersen’s private boat, which included after lunch singing led by our host!

We thanked Christian Petersen and Stig Sorensen for their kind hospitality and moved onto Egersund Tegl where we were met by Jurgen the owner of the factory.  He gave us a guided tour of his modern factory and afterwards showed us around his private collection of classic cars.  He has 78 in his collection and is reputed to have one of the biggest private classic car collections in the world.
On the plane journey home, David Taylor commented on how he had found the factories very interesting and the products exciting and innovative, and our hosts extremely friendly.
